BGS Independent PU College is a private unaided Grade-A college affiliated to the Karnataka State Pre-University Board. The Medium of instruction is English. The College admits both boys and girls based on their performance in 10th Std. Board examination. The college offers the two year Pre-University course with the following subject combinations.
Students passed in SSLC or equivalent examination with 45% marks are eligible to apply. Out of the total available seats, 50% is reserved as management quota, for which selection will be made on merit basis, as decided by the management. The remaining 50% seats will filled up as per admission rules framed by the Karnataka PU Board.

Note: Students are suggested to take up as their second language Kannada.

Department of P.U. education conducts unit tests, mid-term exams and annual exams for both I and II P.U. classes. In addition to these, other tests and exams in both theory and practical will be conducted by the college authority. These tests and exams are also compulsory. Action will be taken against those who skip these tests.
At the end of the term, the marks secured will be informed to the students. Parents are requested to meet principal periodically to know about the progress and attendance of their children.
Parents-teachers meeting will be arranged to assess the performance of the students and to discuss remedial measures to be taken.. Special coaching classes will be arranged in the college for slow learners who need extra coaching in the subject they lag behind .Special attention will also be given to such students who show potential to secure distinctions.
Distinguished professors from renowned institutions will be invited for brain storming sessions with our students
Irregular attendance, indifference to classes, tests and assignments, discourtesy towards lectures, disobedience, obscenity in word or act, willful damage of college property are liable to disciplinary action which includes warnings, fines, withholding of certificates and expulsion from the college.
No student shall enter the class or leave the class without the permission of concerned lecturer. Bunking the classes will be marked as absent and actions will be taken.
Students, in free time shall not loiter in the corridors and disturb other classes in progress. Students of each section will be under the care of a lecturer nominated by the principal. The properties of the college are meant for the benefit of the students, must be used with care and protected at all costs.
On admission every Student will receive an identity card, which should invariably carry his passport size photo and the principal's signature on it. He must present the identity card whenever it is demanded.
Using cell phones in the campus is strictly prohibited. If a student loses a library book, he/she must either replace the book within a month or pay double the price of the book. Class tests will be conducted for the purpose of internal assessment. Students must read all the information put up on the notice board of the college regularly. The parents are welcome to meet the principal and the lecturer whenever they feel like doing so.
